We decided on Sunday that we were done with the material life and headed into the woods to build a new homestead. Primitive LEGO building, Aaron and the girls gathered wood to build the structure, while I was in charge of the beautification of our new home.

See that lovely walkway? All me.
I've accepted the fact that we've been written off as nerds ages ago, so I have no shame in saying that this was the best way to spend a day in the woods. Fallen leaves and filtered sunlight can get a little boring after a while.

Truth be told, you find these sorts of structures throughout the woods. It is THE thing to do, apparently. We played for hours, turning twigs in knots in the trees like they were some mystical doorways. Which is exactly what I used to do as a child with a cherry tree in my backyard. I've been a nerd from the start.

Amazing how that second picture down looks SO much like that wall picture I've been dragging around everywhere I go for the last 15 years. Awesome pics! When's your moving date?

This is just outside of town. It's Shelly the Snail's birthplace actually. I don't think it has a name, it's just part of this old mansion property. Aaron LOVED it. "Honey, we have got to go, the sun is setting ..."

I just happened to stop in. I'm so sorry it's been awhile. But you are a great nights read Tara. I will have to get to the others very shortly. To see the adventures yous have been taking on in Germany. Such a pretty place to have seen in all your pictures. I'm sad that I am quite possibly going to miss it. The day in the woods awe fresh air. The stories told & heard of you as a young girl in the woods at Babcia's where very young lady like very dainty not nerd . But a cute one you are. I gotta say the craftsman ship on that fort is awesome.. Path, gorgeous. Well I gotta cut this short but say hello to the family as I haven't talked to you's at all since heading home. Considering I have a computer :( my bad.Night and good morning to you's .
